Privacy Policy

UnitBasket (unitbasket.com) is a free grocery unit price calculator. This page explains what information is handled when you use it. In short: the calculator works in your browser, we do not ask you to create an account, and we do not run analytics, advertising or tracking cookies at the time of writing.
What you enter into the calculator
The prices, sizes, product names and nutrition values you type are processed in your browser. They are not sent to us and we do not store them on our servers.
What is saved on your device
To save you retyping, UnitBasket stores your most recent inputs and your country choice in your browser's local storage (keys beginning ub_). This stays on your device. It is not a tracking cookie and is not sent to us. You can remove it any time by clearing site data in your browser. The "Clear all" button empties the calculator's inputs.
Share links
The "Copy share link" button creates a link that contains your inputs in its address. Anyone who has the link can see those inputs, so do not put anything private in product names. When someone opens a share link, the address is received by our hosting provider like any other page request.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. When you visit, Cloudflare receives technical request data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, and uses it to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. We do not combine this with other information about you. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Contacting us
If you email [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you write. Messages are delivered through Cloudflare Email Routing to a private mailbox. We use them only to reply to you and keep them only as long as needed for that purpose.
Advertising, affiliate links and analytics
There are none at the moment. If we add analytics, advertising or affiliate links, we will update this page first and say what is collected, and where required we will ask for your consent.
Your rights
We do not hold personal information about you beyond what is described above. Depending on where you live (for example under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, Canada's PIPEDA, Australia's Privacy Act or US state privacy laws), you may have rights to ask what we hold, to correct or delete it, or to complain to your privacy regulator. Email us and we will respond.
Children
UnitBasket is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
